Licence
Specifications:
1. Competitors must be fimiliar with the rest of this document.
2. Competitors must have proof from the issuing authority that
they have held a civil driving licence although a full civil
drivers licence is not required.
3. All Competitors compete at their own risk and must sign a
witnessed indemnity form absolving the Promotor, other
competitors and Speedway New Zealand of any liability which may
arise as a result of a Derby competition.
4. Age minimum to be sixteen (16) years.
Stewards
Responsibility:
1. At the meeting the intended competitor competes in he/she must
hand to the steward the fully filled in Official Indemnity
Declaration and the Specifications.
2. The steward then writes him/her out an Official Speedway New
Zealand One Day Licence (out of his Speedway New Zealand Licence
Book), and gives the competitor a receipt.
3. The Steward then forwards to the Speedway New Zealand Office
the receipt for the Licence Fee and Indemnity form.
4. If an already licenced Speedway New Zealand competitor wishes
to race in Demolition Derby events, the Steward must also sight
that the competitor has a copy of the Rules and Specifications
but the competitor does not pay a licence fee. The indemnity will
already have been forwarded to the office with the
Competitor/Promoter Agreement.
Racing
Rules and Conditions:
1. Demolition Derby to be final event of the programme.
2. Track surface to be heavily watered to reduce vehicle speed.
3. Drivers to hold Speedway New Zealand Demolition Derby Licence
(to be on all SNZ approved entry forms) or any other Speedway New
Zealand class licence.
4. This competition is with the intention of demolishing the
opponent and those not competing in the spirit of the intention
can be excluded.
5. Drivers must wear Speedway New Zealand approved crash helmets
and neck braces are compulsory.
6. Derbycar batteries may be mounted inside car in a suitable and
adequately secure battery box.
7. All drivers must wear full length long sleeve overalls (NO
nylon) and shoes or boots (NO jandals.
8. NO passengers.
9. Drivers must not hit another vehicle in the drivers door.
10. Drivers must compete only on the track. The infield to be
safety area.
11. When a red light or red flag is shown competitors must
immediately stop.
Minimum
Vehicle Specifications:
1. Only standard road cars eligible. NO modifications or
reinforcing permitted except the following.
2. All glass and interior trim to be removed from the vehicle.
3. Drivers door to be securely chained or welded shut.
4. Full harness seat belt to be fitted to drivers seat and bolted
SECURELY TO VEHICLE.
5. Only 18.14 litres (4 gallons) of petrol to be carried in the
tank.
6. All cars to be fitted with roll bar (not roll cage) consisting
of one bar of minimum diameter of 38mm OD x 3.2mm, of steam pipe
or RHS, to extend from floor immediately behind drivers seat to
roof. Welded on each end of bar a similar size of pipe or RHS
300mm long which must be bolted through the floor and roof. A
head rest MUST be mounted on the bar. See diagram.

Gates open at 4.00pm for scrutineering which finishes at 6.30. Pit talk at 6.30pm at scrutineering site.
All entrants must produce a Learners / Restricted or Full drivers licence when signing in for a derby.
Costs:
Speedway NZ one day license $40.00. Derby entry fee $25.00.
Total $65.00
Derby and 50 Lap Streetcar Race Registrations:
All registrations for the derbies and streetcar race are to be made at the new Woodford Glen Office/shop in Bishopdale Mall on Farrington Ave. The non-refundable $25 entry fee will need to paid at the time of registration (the $40:00 SNZ one day license to be paid at the track at time of gear check).
Registrations can be made in person anytime between 9:00am and 2:30pm Tuesday - Friday or Saturday morning between 9:00am and Noon. Eftpos available. Numbers can be reserved by phoning the shop/office on 359 0020 or Email us but $25 entry fee must be paid for prior to derby.
