Winter Workshop - #81 Stockcar Blaine Blyth
August
2009
Santa's Workshop ??
One would almost need traffic lights at Blain Blyth’s workshop. When I visited there were four stockcars on the go and one that had just left.
Sliding open the door, the new 81c car was sitting there in all its magnificence, photo’s can't take in the share beauty of this brand new stockcar.
Named early in its production as “the Filthy Whoppitt” the car has some fantastic detail. Almost to good to go out hitting with and well worth the entrance fee to see this car out on the track.
Also in the shed was a new superstock chassis for 39c Janette Dickinson, the 199d car of Ric “Bison” Stevens which is being converted to a stockcar, and the stockcar of Lance Holdem.
Several other drivers visit to seek advice or fix parts and Blaine is allowed out in the workshop on Tuesdays and Thursdays but is back inside in time for Outrageous Fortune.
This is Blaine’s first full season back after son Lincoln was born two years ago and he is enthusiastic about racing in the stockcar grade this season. He is keen on making the Crushers team and his experience as a Glen Eagle would not got astray.
Campbell McManaway’s Superstock 492c will also make its summer home in Blaine’s workshop. Blaine has been in charge of weekly maintenance, saving the long journey south every weekend.
Blaine thanks all his crew sponsor and supporters that have helped him out over the season and looks forward to a huge season in his new car..
